| Bradford Harrison Berdych was born in Rochester, NY. Brad first took an interest in photography in high school. He took a basic black and white photo class and loved it . He discovered early on that he not only had "an eye", but a passion for capturing beautiful images to share with family and friends. For his final semester of high school he wanted to take an advanced, color photo class to see where it could take him. Unfortunately, the class was cancelled due to budget cuts. His photography teacher, who saw talent in Brad, forfeited his lunch hour to teach him and two other students. Brad went on to win the only "Outstanding Achievement in Photography" award given out.
Brad went on to college but after having second thoughts, studied things other than photography. He actually found himself on the other side of the lense and ultimately billboards and catalogs as a commercial model to help pay for college. After discovering the beauty and tranquilty of the Caribbean in 2004, he felt the lense calling his name. In the Summer of 2006 it became a reality. His third time to the islands took on a different meaning. In his first series of images, he captures the U.S. and British Virgin Islands not as a tourist but as a resident of the islands would see things. An October 06 trip is planned to shoot St. Croix, and several other locations down there. After a seventeen year hiatus, he has vowed to never put the camera down. "it's never too late to follow your dreams". Please Contact Brad Harrison with your thoughts or your questions about the Virgin Islands Experience and my accompanying photography. |
